Salary: £25,000

Permanent (Full-Time, 40 Hrs)


Here at Serco we are looking for an experienced Administrator to join us at HMP Dovegate. Reporting into the Governance and Compliance Manager, your responsibilities include supporting the delivery of a comprehensive, dynamic annual audit timetable that supports the performance of all functions across the establishment. This role is critical is ensuring that all functions are operating in compliance to their statutory and contractual obligations so you will act as Office Supervisor/Coordinator on a day to day basis.


Your duties will consist of supporting the Internal Auditor with the audit programme and assisting with the tracking of non-compliances. You will also undertake any audit as requested by the Governance, Audit and Compliance Manager outside of the agreed programme, providing a written report and action plan. Other key duties will include:


  • Supporting the Investigations & Litigation department and Governance department on a daily basis with all aspects of work.
  • Undertaking agreed internal audit activities, providing written reports & associated action plans.
  • Providing the Governance, Audit and Compliance Manager with performance information, collating and monitoring contractual performance measures and KPT/KPI’s.


Due to the nature of the role, it is important that you are able to plan and organise your workload proactively in a busy environment and display a common-sense approach to your workload with the capacity to make reasonable decisions as required to undertake this role successfully.


What you will need to do the role:


It is vital that you have excellent IT, written & oral communication skills, with the ability to negotiate at all levels as you will be working within an intensely pressurised environment. You will also be confident in your own ability to work alone using your own initiative as well as maintain good working relationships with colleagues within your team. You must also have previous experience of performance, contractual and audit related work as understanding this data will be a key part of this role.
