Keyworker Administrator

HMP Thameside, London

Full-Time, Permanent

Salary £20,000 plus benefits & London Weighting


Here at Serco we’re looking for a Keyworker Administrator to join us at HMP Thameside based in London. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic individual to join the business, you will be responsible for providing admin support to all Key Working areas which will include identifying a Key Worker for all prisoners and managing the allocation process in accordance with the set criteria.


You will provide the appropriate information for all your areas of responsibility for the month end reports Daily filing and archiving of records as and when required, ensure maintenance of the keyworker deliverables and escalate any shortfalls against target to line management and ensure a high level of security and confidentiality is maintained in relation to staff and prisoners, and that all information, both written and verbal, is treated confidentially.



As part of this you’ll:

  • Act as the hub for communication between prisoner and Key Worker and Key Worker and family/friends
  • Generate a prisoner portfolio for all prisoners and engage in regular communication with Key Workers
  • Have an understanding of all relevant policies and procedures and provide help and support in all areas of the function as required by your line manager
  • Have an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the Key Worker role
  • Maintain accurate records of all actions taken and produce reports as requested
  • Adhere to the sickness reporting guidelines set out at induction
  • Engage in any ongoing training and role development required



What you’ll need to do the role

First and foremost, you’ll need to have worked in a similar ideally within a custodial setting, but this is not essential as training will be given. You will demonstrate your ability to work in a fast-paced Administration environment where working to tight deadlines is a must and attention to detail is key.


The successful applicant will be computer literate, able to work on their own initiative, proactive, efficient and reliable. We are looking for someone that can communicate at all levels, build strong working relationships and be a successful part of an ever-growing team.
