Business Support Officer

6 months fixed term contract
1x 22.2 hours per week (part time)
1x 37 hours per week (full time)
Location: Peterborough City Council, PE2 8TY
Salary: from £17,750 per annum dependant upon experience


About the role 

As the HR business support officer, you will provide an efficient business support service to various clients through answering queries over the phone and through email as required.  Liaising with managers and new candidates to carry out pre-employment checks including DBS, references, issuing of contracts and variation letters to staff, along with completing Right to work checks. You will need to liaise with managers/staff and external bodies.  Dealing with changes to post and leavers, informing payroll of changes affecting pay.  This role will require you to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. 

It is important that you have strong attention to detail and IT skills, as you will be using the HR system and database spreadsheets to maintain accurate records.


About you

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience working in an office environment and previous experience with working within IT software packages such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, Outlook and Teams.
