We have several fantastic opportunities for experienced Security Officers to join the team at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. Initially this role will be a 6-month contract, however there may be prospects for this to turn into a permanent position. The role comes with an abundance of opportunities for further training and career progression, so this would be the perfect role for anyone looking to progress their career in security.

Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital puts its patients at the heart of everything they do. The Hospital cares for the people of Norfolk, north Suffolk and further afield, providing almost one million out-patient appointments, day case procedures and in-patient admissions every year. The hospital has 1,200 beds and state-of-the art facilities and works closely with the University of East Anglia to train health professionals and have a strong focus on research.

As a Security Officer you will deliver a helpful and professional front of house service, providing a polite, efficient and compassionate service to patients, visitors and staff.  You will offer a security presence at the hospital, carrying out reactive and proactive duties.

You will act as first line response to violent and aggressive incidents, investigating reports of theft and producing written reports for all security related incidents.

You will provide a proactive approach to crime prevention, by way of physically patrolling the Hospital site and use of installed security systems and offer crime prevention advice to all users of the Hospital.

You will build strong relationships with users and employees at the hospital, and with outside agencies, such as the local Police and Fire service.

What you’ll need to do the role

You will need to have previous Security Officer experience, ideally within a hospital or customer care environment. You will have a professional, sympathetic approach and hold the ability to deal with difficult situations.

You must be able to work under pressure, unsupervised and have proven experience in writing restraint reports.

A valid SIA licence is essential for this role.
