As a Social Value Officer in our Environmental Services team, you’ll play a central role in delivering meaningful change within local communities. By driving social value programmes and nurturing partnerships with local authorities and community organisations, you’ll help us meet – and exceed – our social and environmental goals.
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Project manage and deliver our social value commitments, including apprenticeships, inclusive hiring, and carbon reduction targets
- Lead the creation and delivery of the Annual Community Benefits Plan aligned with the Themes, Outcomes and Measures (TOMS) framework
- Collaborate with teams across Serco – including HR, L&D, and Recruitment – to streamline programme execution
- Build and manage relationships with Local Authority stakeholders and the voluntary and community sector
- Act as the go-to point of contact for all social value matters across the contract
- Analyse social value data using tools like the Social Value Portal, and produce clear and compelling reports
- Organise and attend community events to maximise programme impact
- Contribute to content and case studies that demonstrate our impact and build Serco’s positive reputation
Does this sound like you?
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have…
- Academic or work experience in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), corporate social responsibility, environmental management, or public policy
- Experience managing projects and coordinating across multiple teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and confidence handling data
- A passion for social and environmental impact, with a flexible and self-motivated approach
