The post offers an exciting opportunity for the right applicant to be part of a professional multi-skilled team operating from scenic Kyle of Lochalsh providing a wide variety of Maritime support services as part of the innovative British Underwater Test and Evaluation Centre.  The location is ideal for the outdoor enthusiast providing a good work/ life balance.  Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Controller or Master whilst onboard, the Chief Officer will be responsible the day-to-day working of the desk department, including bridge watch keeping, cargo operations and maintaining high standards of upkeep.

 

This is a crucial role, as alongside the Master, the Chief Officer will be responsible for the safe running and operations on board of the vessel.

 

What you’ll need to do the role

To fulfil this role, we require someone who holds a Certificate of Competence as a Chief Officer (Unlimited) as well as holding an Unrestricted Eng1 to ensure they can complete the role to the required standard.

Ideally, the successful individual will also hold a Ship’s Safety Officer Certificate as well as a Ship’s Security Officer Certificate to further help them develop in the role.
