Base Location: Home Based with National Travel

Band 3 - Full Time, Permanent

£45,000 - £55,000 pa + Car + Excellent Corporate Benefits Package


Here at Serco, we are looking for a Health and Social Care Business Partner (H&S BP)to join our Justice and Immigration sector and effectively manage and assure all aspects of the contract operational interface with the commissioned health and social care service providers across the current and future custodial and immigration estate.


You will provide clinical, strategic, stakeholder and operational management support by liaising with all key stakeholders including Serco, Commissioners, healthcare providers, social care providers, Local Authority/HMIP/CQC, NOMS and HMPPS to facilitate and enable effective healthcare delivery.


A primary aim of the role will be to oversee the business, strategic planning and implementation of effective service user outcomes and reducing clinical and corporate risk. You will effectively support and advise Senior Managers / Contract Directors, with healthcare advice and support to enable positive outcomes for service users whilst maintaining a positive and integrated stakeholder framework within each setting to provide positive joint working practices.


You will be responsible for providing advice to enable the implementation of Health and Social Care standards, lessons learned and recommendations by statutory and advisory bodies alongside the ongoing review and implementation of audit and assurance processes.


This demanding pivotal role is suited to someone who is driven and committed to maintaining positive and effective stakeholder relationships and has a proven track record in managing multiple work projects across multiples sites.


Your fluid knowledge of modern business practices, issues and trends, alongside awareness of legislative provisions and standards applicable to a commercial environment, will drive your success in the following accountabilities:


  • Support the Senior H&S BP partner to manage all health and social related matters across the J&I estate to enable integrated care delivery.
  • Partnership with health and social care providers to ensure all recommendations from statuary bodies such as HMIP/CQC, PPO, NHS England, Local Authorities and IMB are implemented, and audited.
  • Ensuring Serco is appropriately supported and well represented at the quarterly strategic prison/IRC, Healthcare partnership boards and Local authority safeguarding meetings.
  • Oversee all lessons learned within H&S Care are appropriately disseminated, and newfound learning delivered.



What you’ll need to do the role

First and foremost, you will have appropriate operational experience in heath, social care or custodial/immigration settings and an RGN/RMN or CMI qualification is advantageous.

You must have experience in audit, risk management, compliance and bids; you will be expected to  support business development and growth opportunities across the business.
