Here at Serco we are looking for an Administrator to join us at HMP Doncaster, Yorkshire. Working within the Offender Management Unit, you will be responsible for identifying individuals who pose a risk to specific victims and/or groups and to monitor and/or place appropriate restrictions on them whilst they are in custody, with a view to protecting victims and avoid repeat victimisation. This will include responsibility for identifying all individuals who are charged with offences against the public, specifically focusing on those who may pose a risk to specific groups including children, partners and family member through either violence or sexual offending.

As our new Admin Support Officer, you will be required to identify and share your findings with relevant agencies who you will be liaising with on a daily basis, to help manage all identified offender’s ‘pre-release’ and share any information that could change a person’s risk factors. As part of your day-to-day duties you will carry out some administrative tasks including paperwork post identification, telephone and mail-monitoring written logs as well as identification of offences (warrants/documents).

What you will need to do the role:

In order to carry out this role successfully, you will need to have a good understanding of Offender Management Unit work and some previous experience of working with offenders or other vulnerable groups. You must have experience of working within a busy office, with strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to liaise and negotiate at all levels. We are looking for someone with a good standard of education including English & Maths.

This is a great role for someone who is confident in their ability to work alone using their own initiative, as well as maintaining good working relationships with colleagues within their team. If you enjoy engaging with people and have strong interpersonal skills, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with offenders and ensure a positive experience as part of their rehabilitation.

Full training will be given to you upon start as well as full access to the public protection data base and the home office guidelines. This role plays a huge part in the smooth running of the Offender Management Unit and you will find great job satisfaction with a better understanding of ‘prevention is better than the cure’, helping to reduce the risk to the vulnerable, young, old and the individuals who have been identified as being at risk.
