Full time (40 hours per week) Monday to Friday 0800-1700



Salary from £28,000 to £36,000 dependent upon experience


Here at Serco we’re looking for an Estates Quantity Surveyor to join us at Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford. Reporting into the Project’s & Lifecycle Manager, you will undertake a full range of Quantity Surveying and contract administration duties, from project definition through each phase to in use, following the RIBA Plan of Work.

The Estates Quantity Surveyor will provide expert advice and reports for cost management, procurement, and analysis of works. You will work closely with Building Surveyors, Project Managers and external consultants to develop Employer’s Requirements documents, tender documentation and reports.

Other duties include maintaining control of procurement activity undertaken, liaising and in conjunction with Serco’s procurement colleagues and strategy, while adhering to contractual requirements on site. You will seek continual improvement of Serco’s quantity surveying and procurement processes, through regular review and challenge in line with applicable regulations and industry best practice.


What you’ll need to do the role
You will be able to demonstrate previous experience in similar specialist roles gained in a client, consultant, or contractor capacity, ideally working within the NHS or other public sector. You will be able to show a track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines


The successful candidate will have a degree level qualification in a construction-related discipline essential. Membership of relevant professional institution (RICS, CIOB, CIBSE etc.) preferred.
