HMO & Licencing Co-Ordinator

Salary £21,500 - £29,500 + Company Benefits

Hours 37.5 p/w


We have an exciting opportunity for a Licencing Co-Ordinator to become the main point of contact for licencing queries for the Property Team within our Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract. AASC offers a range of improvements, with particular focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system.


The purpose of this role is to ensure all properties across the portfolio have the required mandatory licencing in place to comply with the AASC contract, and Housing Act (2004) and continually monitor changes by local authorities across the regions.


In this role you will actively administer the licencing process from end-to-end, whilst offering support, comfort interaction and providing succinct recommendations to Senior Management and to the contract leadership team, internal legal business partners, landlords and investors. You will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring licencing analysis, and provide meaningful data to the contract and for submitting licence applications to local authorities.


This is a role which requires excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills due to the variety of accountabilities which also include the following:


  • Making regular visits to properties.
  • Ensuring enforcement notices are actioned or challenged accordingly.
  • Coordinating and managing the property hand back process from start to finish.
  • Analysing quality and efficiency.
  • Maintaining and updating the systems.
  • Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required of you appropriate with your general level of responsibility.


What you will need to do the role:

In order to carry out this role successfully, you must have a self-motivated and pro-active approach to work with respect to managing workload and delivering successful outputs and have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and laying the foundations for continued growth.


You will have strong analytical and thinking skills whilst paying attention to detail and maintaining accuracy at the same time.


You will have a strong knowledge of property licencing requirements required certification and possess a good working knowledge of Local and National residential property legislation along with good knowledge of interrogating Fire Risk Assessments.


You will be able to interpret floor plans to ensure maximum occupancy in properties.

You must have the ability to travel within the regions and occasionally within the UK (a valid UK driver’s licence is essential).


Lastly, due to the nature of this role Security Clearance at CTC level (Counter Terrorism Check) and CRB clearance required (Serco UK & Europe is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office).
