Here within our Immigration Removal Centre, we deliver the best care we can for our residents, during which is undoubtedly a stressful and challenging period of their life. We deliver our service based on a community model allowing residents as much freedom of movement and choice as possible.

 

We are looking for a confident and credible Assistant Director with custodial experience, to work alongside the Yarl's Wood IRC Team supporting the vision and delivery of the contract.

 

This is both an operational and strategic role working closely with the customer to ensure that overall requirements are understood and delivered. The relationship with the customer will be to the highest professional and ethical standards.

 

Reporting into the Deputy Director, you will manage a perpetual process of operational compliance alongside the day to day running of the residential units and the centre regimes, ensuring detainees are offered a clean and decent standard of accommodation and access to a broad range of activities that reflects the diversity of our population.  You will also ensure that vulnerable detainees are appropriately safeguarded by the staff teams looking after them and that a culture of mutual respect and tolerance is encouraged by staff and detainees alike.

 

This is a demanding role with a broad range of principal duties and objectives as detailed below, but you won’t be doing this alone. You’ll be working with supportive colleagues who are passionate about the work we do and who live by our company values of Care, Trust, Innovation and Pride.

 

  • Assisting in all large-scale business change initiatives.
  • Taking the lead on managing serious incidents when on duty.
  • Assisting in managing the annual budget and monthly accounts.
  • Being directly involved in client relationship management and ensuring all services are meeting their requirements.

 

What you will need to do the role

 

First and foremost, you must have significant managerial experience in a custodial setting or relevant Management Qualifications and be qualified in Command of Serious Incidents.

 

Your natural ethical and professional standards will aid with engaging with our stakeholders and building necessary relationships to fulfil our contractual requirements.
