We opened Kohuora ASCF in Wiri, South Auckland in 2015, extending its portfolio in Asia Pacific. The Role


Reporting directly to the Manager of Psychological Services and Interventions, you will be providing assessment and treatment services for prisoners to identify and address the factors that led to their offending. This role will include clinical supervision of Psychologists, Intern Psychologists and a team of Programme Facilitators. In this role you will provide a comprehensive suite of services to meet the needs of prisoners.  You have to be registered with NZ Board of Psychologists as a Psychologist (General, Clinical or Counselling) and hold a current practicing certificate.


What we are looking for in our candidates


To be successful in this role you will have or can demonstrate potential in the following areas:


  • Masters Degree in Psychology (minimum)
  • Registration with NZ Board of Psychologists (or be eligible for registration)
  • Knowledge and competency in the assessment and treatment of a wide spectrum of psychological problems and criminogenic needs in adults
  • Experience working in a forensic (prison or community corrections) psychology position
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have highly effective interpersonal skills in a team environment
  • The utmost integrity, a professional attitude, and strong commitment to the rehabilitation of offenders
  • An understanding of and commitment to the principles of partnership in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and providing for better outcomes for Māori.
  • Relevant Experience.
