About you 
You are an experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse with advanced kills in clinical assessment, care planning, review and discharge planning of individual patients. You will have the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver quality services and provide risk assessment, individual consultation, information and support for patients. It would be highly advantageous to have a sound knowledge of the principles of prevention and harm minimisation in the forensic setting.
 
About the Role
Reporting to the Primary Care Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical documentation pertaining to individual consultation and facility requirements. You will use your clinical knowledge and skills to support new staff members, supervise junior nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Medication Assistants, and assist in the management of projects aligned with quality improvement and policy development.


This role will require you to manage change and be proactive in uncertain and unpredictable patient’s health situations and work efficiently within the constraints of correctional environments and increasing patient acuity. You will demonstrate ethical and high professional standards and compliance with the Acacia Prison code of conduct and policies.

This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday with NO NIGHTS.  You can also leave your lunchbox at home, we’ll feed you too!!


To be successful in this role, you will have:

•    Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
•    Comprehensive clinical documentation skills
•    Minimum four years full time equivalent post graduate experience in alcohol and other drugs of addiction
•    Recent experience in a complex alcohol and other drugs health service setting
•    Clinical knowledge and clinical problem-solving skills
•    Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication
•    Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
•    Experience within a correctional or acute environment, or similar, is preferred
