About You

You will play a key role in providing a day to day response to cleaning requirements within all required timeframes as directed by the Cleaning Leading Hand. You will demonstrate effective teamwork by working collaboratively with others, whilst taking all practical steps to create and maintain a culturally sensitive environment including respecting the diversity of inmates, staff and stakeholders.  


About the Role

As a Cleaner at Clarence Correctional Centre, you will provide support to the Cleaning Leading Hand to undertake allocated periodic scheduled cleaning tasks as detailed in the Cleaning Plan. You will be responsible for inventory supplies of tools, equipment, chemicals and materials to ensure that sufficient supplies are available, and items are in usable condition.


     To be successful in this role you will have:    

  • Have proven cleaning experience within a large and complex environment
  • Hold a Certificate II in Cleaning however this is not mandatory
  • Ideally have knowledge of the safe handling procedures for chemicals and the dissemination of information via MSDS documentation
  • Ideally have had previous experience working with computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office applications or have a willingness to learn
  • Have the ability and commitment to implement Health & Safety procedures
  • Be able to prioritise and manage competing demands and priorities to meet deadlines
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Hold a high level of personal integrity and demonstrate ethical behaviour
