We are seeking a Clinical Specialist, specialising in Drug and Alcohol to join us and make a difference every day

  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team delivering integrated patient-centred healthcare

  • Be a part of a team of Health Professionals - Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Team Leaders, Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Specialists.
  • Our Health Services team provides primary care based on a patient-centred model allowing patients to actively participate in their health management. The team works closely with correctional staff to deliver holistic and integrated patient-centred health services that: Treat and prevent communicable disease, and proactively treat chronic disease
  • Educate custodial patients on healthy living and lifestyle choices
  • Assist with reintegration back into the community and provide continuity of care
  • Address the diverse needs of the custodial patient population, including men, women and culturally and linguistically diverse peoples through specific tailoring.

  • Competitive Remuneration Package ranging from $104,537 - $116,329 Total Remuneration Package. Total Remuneration Package is inclusive of penalties, allowances, loadings and superannuation.
  • $12,000.00 Sign on Support Payment ($6,000 paid on commencement and $6,000 following 9-months completed service), sign on payment – subject to conditions.
  • Up to $5,000 relocation assistance (non-cash out benefit) in accordance with policy
  • Five (5) weeks annual leave for Day Workers (Monday to Friday)
  • Ten (10) days personal/careers leave
  • Two (2) days volunteer leave each year, to support community and social causes

To help us make a difference, you will need: 

  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse, with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Experience in a primary health or acute setting as part of a formal post graduate program or two years full time equivalent experience without a formal post graduate program
  • Suitable formal qualification, training and experience in the specialist of “Drug and Alcohol”
  • Current competencies in, or a demonstrated ability to work towards a range of clinical skills in the correctional environment including (but not limited to) intravenous cannulation; phlebotomy; simple suturing; application of a back slab; advanced resuscitation
  • Recognition as a Nurse Immuniser in NSW or a willingness to work towards same would be highly favourable
  • Well-developed written, communication and interpersonal skills and ability to adapt communication appropriately
  • Self-management, motivation and resilience abilities essential to working in a complex environment
  • Cultural awareness including understanding the impact and management and working with people of different ethnic backgrounds, customs and contemporary issues
  • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
