General Practitioners

We are looking for civilian General Practitioners to join our Australian Defence Force Health Services team and make a positive difference to the lives of those who serve.

  • Outstanding work-life balance (Monday to Friday working week | 7:30 am - 3:30 pm)
  • Multi-disciplinary environment with mental health, physiotherapy, pharmacy, dental and medical all working together
  • No Medicare billing or private health insurance claims administration

As a civilian Medical Officer working across Australian Defence Force Health Services, not only will you deliver important clinical care to those who serve, you will be part of something bigger.

Meaningful work that matters, supporting the Australian Defence Force

  • Provide quality clinical care to patients and technical medical advice to Units and Commands
  • Develop and maintain patient care plans
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary healthcare team to provide coordinated patient management
  • Provide assessment of patients and co-ordinate outpatient and inpatient treatments.

To help us make a difference, you will need:

  • the highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
  • a current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
    • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP); OR
    • Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM); OR
    • Vocational Registration
  • New Fellows with 2-5 years’ experience in a General Practice setting may be considered. Please enquire if interested
  • previous full-time post graduate general practitioner experience (or part-time equivalent) as determined by RACGP and ACRRM
  • recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA
  • current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001) certification.
