Overview
This is an exciting civilian role where you can utilise your specialist experience to provide Navigation expertise during the development and delivery of training to the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Officers of the Watch. Working in a small but focussed team, you will enjoy the intrinsic rewards to training output and the support of a global services company.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- The highest levels of personal integrity and behaviour
- Must hold a Platform Endorsement and Bridge Watchkeeping Certificate on any major / minor warship
- Proven experience as a Navigator
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to show initiative and work effectively under pressure
- Must be flexible around shift rosters
This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment as an essential selection component for this role.
Assistant Maritime Warfare Instructor
- Work alongside the Senior Maritime Warfare Instructor and RAN staff to provide high quality training to Maritime Warfare Officers
- Operate the simulator and act as an integral part of the training team to provide realistic scenario-based training to RAN Officers
- Serco will provide training to meet these specific requirements as well as aid in gaining civilian qualifications in Training and Assessment
