Serco Pathways

Opening doors. Changing lives. Strengthening communities.
Our Pathways programmes are designed to support people who have faced barriers to employment into secure, meaningful roles as part of Team Serco – with tailored support for groups such as people with disabilities, people with criminal convictions, care leavers, people with experience of homelessness, military service leavers, and military partners, spouses and families.

Our programmes aren’t one-size-fits-all. Each pathway is built around the unique experiences, challenges, and strengths of the people it’s created for – offering tailored support, development, and opportunities to help you succeed.
Each programme is designed to give you the right support at the right time – so you can build a career with purpose and make a positive impact. Here are just some of the ways we achieve this:

Supporting untapped talent

Competitive pay, allowances, and rewards that reflect the value you bring.

Guaranteed interviews

If you're eligible for a guaranteed interview scheme and meet the essential criteria for the role, you can apply through this route by opting in to the relevant scheme on the application form.

Fair, inclusive vetting

Our vetting process is consistent, compliant and designed to support people with complex backgrounds.

Supported recruitment

If you apply through Pathways, you can receive tailored training, mentoring and onboarding to build confidence and workplace readiness.

Sustainable careers

Pathways helps people not just start a job, but grow into a long-term, meaningful career across Serco.

Dedicated support

We have dedicated Pathways colleagues within our Recruitment team who will be there to support you throughout your application journey.

Pathways for the Armed Forces community

We were one of the very first companies to sign the Armed Forces Covenant in 2013 — a public promise to ensure that no member of the Armed Forces community faces disadvantage in accessing public and commercial services.

It’s a community we’re proud to support through dedicated pathways designed around your experiences, and partnerships with organisations such as Career Transition Partnership (CTP), Forces Transition Group (FTG), Walking with the Wounded, Recruit for Spouses, Forces Employment Charity, The Poppy Factory and   more.

"Serco's really good at recognising military experience and understanding. There's a large military presence here and I think it was key to fitting in and feeling like I belonged. I've been here 20 years now and I felt like I fit in from day one.

Pathways for people with criminal convictions

We believe your future should be defined by your potential – not your past.

Our Pathways programme for those with criminal convictions supports people into secure, meaningful employment, with tailored guidance at every stage. That includes:
  • Fair and open recruitment processes
  • Guaranteed Interview Scheme
  • Through our 'Ban the Box' commitment, applicants are not required to disclose criminal convictions at the application stage, unless they wish to apply through the Guaranteed Interview Scheme. Disclosure is only required in order to be considered under the scheme.

"The sheer number of rejections I faced because of my conviction, even with a degree and experience, was exhausting. It took hundreds of applications, but Serco was the company that finally saw me. I was offered more than just employment - I found a sustainable career with real responsibility, allowing me to make a positive difference to people every day."
