You Make a Difference

Join our Customer Contact Officers team in Ballarat and play a vital role in supporting the Victorian community.

Working from our Ballarat based 24/7 contact centre, you’ll be the first point of contact for people seeking non-emergency police support.

When something has gone wrong, you’ll guide callers through the reporting process and ensure their enquiry reaches the right place.

What we’re looking for

This role requires composure, sound judgement and a strong sense of responsibility.

You could be a great fit if you have:
  • Experience delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence navigating multiple systems and screens at the same time
  • Strong listening and communication skills, with the ability to show empathy
  • A calm and resilient approach when conversations are sensitive
  • A professional mindset and the ability to work well within a team
  • A willingness to learn and apply feedback on the job

You’ll also need:
  • Australian Citizenship or unrestricted working rights
  • The ability to complete required background, security and assessment checks
  • Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster

About the Police Assistance Line and Serco

This service provides a dedicated number for Victorians to report non-urgent crimes and events, without needing to visit a local police station or call emergency services.

From our Ballarat contact centre, we support this service on behalf of the Victorian Government, assisting callers from across the state.

Our team works within structured processes and defined call types, ensuring every enquiry is assessed carefully and directed appropriately.
