Where could you join us?

This is where we're expanding our workforce right now, to support with the food waste collection roll-out - with more opportunities to follow in 2025 and 2026!

Join our friendly and hardworking Basingstoke team as we expand food waste and recycling services. Whether you're an experienced driver or looking to start as a loader, there are plenty of opportunities to grow, stay active, and make a difference in your community.

Our Hart-based crews are expanding! With the rollout of new waste collection services in the area, we're looking for reliable drivers and loaders to join our team. You’ll be helping deliver essential services to local residents — with early finishes, a strong team, and real community impact.

We’re growing our team in Mid Sussex to support the introduction of food waste collections – and you’ll be helping keep streets clean and delivering this new service to local residents. Great crew atmosphere and early finishes make this a rewarding role close to home.

Please note – we’re relocating!
Our depot is currently in Haywards Heath, but in 2026 we’ll be moving to East Grinstead.
  • Drivers will start out in Haywards Heath and move to East Grinstead once the new site opens.
  • Loaders will need to be based in East Grinstead, but while we’re still operating from Haywards Heath, we’ll arrange pick-up on the rounds.

If you have any questions or need more details, feel free to speak with your recruiter.

Hiring Manager, Basingstoke and Hart

“We're looking for people who enjoy being part of a team, and like to stay active! The earlier start and finish times also work really well for people with families and a full afternoon schedule.”

About our roles

The initial recruitment process includes application, online tests, telephone interview and assessment (either face to face or virtual). If successful you'll be required to go through strict security and vetting checks, which will allow you to work in this secure environment. The checks are conducted via the Home Office and can up to six weeks to complete.

As a driver, you’ll do more than sit behind the wheel. Our drivers are a key part of the crew — you’ll be responsible for driving the collection vehicle safely along your route, but you’ll also work alongside loaders to help with collections when needed. It’s active, physical work and a team effort all the way through.

Key duties:

  • Safely operate the refuse or recycling vehicle
  • Assist loaders with collections as needed
  • Perform vehicle checks and keep paperwork up to date
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service to residents
  • Wash down your vehicle at the end of the shift

You’ll need:
  • A valid LGV/HGV Category C licence
  • A Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • A good level of physical fitness
  • A strong work ethic and team spirit
  • A commitment to safety and doing the job properly

As a loader, you’ll be out in the community each day, collecting household refuse, recycling, or food waste. You’ll work outdoors in all weather, lifting and emptying bins, and making sure collections are carried out efficiently and safely. It’s physical, hands-on work — and you’ll be part of a friendly team that takes pride in the job.

Key duties:

  • Collect bins and containers from households and businesses
  • Sort and load waste materials into the correct vehicle compartments
  • Spot and report contamination or collection issues
  • Communicate with residents and support your crew

You’ll need:

  • A good level of physical fitness
  • A strong work ethic and team spirit
  • A commitment to safety and doing the job properly
