Your role as a Custodial Officer

Every day as a Custodial Officer, you’ll help reduce reoffending and build safer communities by playing a vital role in the supervision, rehabilitation, and reintegration of inmates.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining a secure environment for both staff and inmates, while fostering positive change for those in your care.

Maintaining a safe and secure environment

Conduct headcounts, searches, inspections, and address behaviours early to ensure a secure environment.

Support rehabilitation

Encourage inmates to engage in education and programs designed to help them reintegrate into the society.

Welfare & support

Help create a positive environment by engaging with prisoners, provide support, de-escalate conflicts, and address concerns.

Reporting

Provide clear and detailed reports that help monitor prisoner behaviour, track incidents, and maintain a secure environment.

About Acacia Prison & Serco

Sales team help Phenom customers reach their business potential.

Located 55km east of Perth, Acacia Prison is a medium-security facility managed by Serco, housing 1,600 male inmates.

We focus on safety, rehabilitation, and creating a pro-social learning environment.

At Acacia, you’ll join a collaborative, professional team dedicated to fostering positive change and helping inmates successfully reintegrate into society.
