Permanent, Full time Monday- Friday – 37.5 hours

Salary - £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience plus Serco benefits

 

To provide safe and efficient maintenance of the Building Fabric and equipment within the hospital as directed by Estates Supervisors and Management

 

Main Accountabilities: 

  • To carry out reactive repairs, Defect work, decorating and minor maintenance within all areas of the Hospital as directed by Supervisors or Managers.
  • Preparing surfaces by washing walls, repairing damage, or removing old paint to walls, doors and ceilings.
  • Matching and applying paint and other surface finishes to various surfaces.
  • Protecting surrounding areas by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent spillages etc.
  • Providing decorative and faux finishes as the site requires, with attention to detail.
  • Adhere to contracts completion KPI timelines whilst managing workloads. 
  • To work in accordance with all relevant Serco Policies & Procedures, Workplace Regulations and Best Practice Guidelines
  • To take a proactive approach to the development and review of Health & Safety systems, work instructions and working practices
  • To always work in a safe and responsible manner with full regard for own and other’s safety
  • To attend work in compliance with the Computerised Time & Attendance System
  • To use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
  • To be prepared to attend work or work beyond expected finishing time in exceptional circumstances, as requested by Supervisors or Managers
  • Communicate to Supervisors or Managers unrepaired faults or defects or requirements for Spare Parts
  • To attend on-site and off-site training as required
  • Requirement to work shifts covering Monday - Sunday to cover on site operational hours of 7:00 – 19:00 – Weekend enhancements available.

 

What you’ll need to do the role: 

  • Level 2/3 NVQ
  • Level 2/3 National/Diploma Certificate
  • Working at height, Ladder & tower scaffolds
  • Proven experience of working in a similar environment
  • Good communication and customer service skills
