Catering Team Leader.

 

Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert, FK5 4EB.

 

Full time – 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 1300 – 2000 hours.

 

Salary - £13.02 - £14.06 per hour depending on experience plus Serco benefits.

 

Main Purpose:

 

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Patient Catering Department.
  • Ensuring that all tasks completed by catering assistants are done so in a safe and hygienic manager.
  • Full compliance with SERCO`s Business Unit Food Safety Management System ensuring it is always adhered to.  
  • Maintaining the highest standards, quality of service to all patients/visitors and staff.
  • Training – in community wards on systems – Synbiotix Food Ordering System, Patient Catering Satisfaction Survey.
  • To ensure the department is well managed, and staff are encouraged to work unsupervised should they need to.
  • Ensure all areas of compliance for Allergen Management/Food Safety is strictly followed.
  • Working closely with Customer Support Housekeepers /team leaders – regarding food orders and patients’ needs for any special dietary requirements.
  • Responsible for welfare calls to team members off absence and manage any issues.
  • Responsible for welfare meetings and follow up calls to give support to all team members off absence and report to Patient Catering Manager any issues that might be developing.

 

Main Accountabilities: 

 

  • Delegation of duties for the department to run affectedly.
  • Ensure H & S guidelines are always followed.
  • Encourage and support staff with personal development plans.
  • Be responsible for own team within the department ensuring all training, holiday entitlement and any mycatchups are kept up to date.
  • Manpower planning.
  • Working within budget constraint’s.
  • Supporting other areas within the department.
  • Ensuring hand over diary is completed daily for effective communication within the department.
  • Ensuring that regular contact is kept with Absence Management, calls are done and RTW interviews are done for everyone.
  • Welfare meetings.
  • Progression and development of staff is a key focus.
  • Visit the community wards – offer training and support.

 

What you will need for the role:

 

  • Intermediate Food Hygiene Certification.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Customer care.
  • Knowledge of working with chemicals for cleaning / COSSH awareness.
  • Numerous awareness.
  • Extensive knowledge of Allergens and Allergen Management.
  • Extensive knowledge of HACCP and its purpose and systems
