We’re recruiting for a qualified experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Justice & Immigration (J&I) FM contract.

 

You will play a key role in the management, development and delivery of delivery of lifecycle modelling and asset replacement programmes across the J&I estate by managing all aspects of FM pricing / cost modelling.

 

As part of the Senior Management Team (SMT) you will report directly to Head of Surveying and will work closely with the F&M Asset management, Projects and Mobilisation, Transition and Transformation (MTT) Team.

 

It is imperative you have the relevant quantity surveyor qualifications alongside the required technical knowledge, competence and understanding of building construction, fabric and building engineering services.

 

Your comprehensible commercial awareness and excellent detailed knowledge of past and present building surveying, processes and principles will ensure you can deliver on accountabilities such as:

 

  • Advise on lifecycle/dilapidation projects and determine/manage business/financial requirements aligned to the Risk.
  • Develop, organise and manage comprehensive pricing documentation for competitive tender activities including preparing PTE’s and BQ’s.
  • Support procurement colleagues with management of tender RFI’s, supplier clarifications and tender adjudication activities.
  • Support J&I FM Bid team with new bids and re-bid opportunities.
  • Undertake risk, value management and cost control during post contract, practical delivery and final account stages of projects.
  • Champion working towards gaining ISO 19650 for Building Information Modelling (BIM) including the creation and development of digital modelling of the existing J & I Estate.

 

What you’ll need to do the role 

 

First and foremost, you will hold the relevant quantity surveying and/or equivalent industry qualifications and hold recognised professional body accreditation or working towards (RICS, CIPS, CIOB or equivalent).

 

As with any skilled role at this level, you will have sound technical knowledge, competence and understanding of building construction, fabric and building engineering services. Proficient in the use and application of SPONS, NSR for estimating, tendering.

 

Excellent understanding of CDM Regulations and can demonstrate ability to apply its principles to coordinate/advise Client, PD and PC duties.

 

You will enjoy working as part of a team, using influencing skills to negotiate and resilience and determination to succeed in a fast paced high pressure environment.

 

Finally, flexibility is a must - this is a mobile role covering locations nationally across the UK therefore must have a flexible approach to travel to/from sites and be prepared to stay away from home, potentially this could be up to 2-3 nights a week.
