We have a vacancy for a Gas Engineer to join our fantastic FM team at HMP Doncaster - a category B local resettlement prison situated in South Yorkshire, housing a male population of up to 1145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged 18-20.

 

You will carry out routine, general, planned preventative maintenance, repair and testing of gas systems alongside general plumbing and fitting.

 

Some of the daily accountabilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Ensure that various pre planned maintenance schedules are kept up to date and maintained as may be required.
  • Assist in multi trade support of other members of the FM service team in completing work
  • Carry out fault finding and defect rectification to items of installed plant and equipment as may be defined and specified.
  • Installation of new plant and apparatus as may be defined and specified.
  • Assist the other members of the maintenance team with their activities as may be required, on other plant and apparatus.

What you’ll need to do the job

 

You will be a Gas Safe registered Engineer with a C & G Certificate in Commercial Gas servicing, appropriately qualified having served a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent trade based qualification.

 

You must hold a valid Plumbing Qualification (C&G, NVQ) and be able to work independently when required and complete tasks in a timely manner and to the expected standard.

 

You will enjoy working as part of a team with a commitment and flexible approach flexible approach to working as they will be a member of the Facilities “Out of hours” call out roster.
