For over 50 years, Serco has proudly worked alongside the UK Armed Forces, providing critical defence support services. This partnership has given us a unique appreciation for the sacrifices made by those who serve — and the incredible contributions veterans bring to businesses and communities.

Today, over 2,400 members of our UK workforce come from military backgrounds, and we continue to actively seek out the leadership, discipline, and teamwork skills that make veterans so valued within our organisation.

We’re proud to have placed 3rd in the Great British Employers of Veterans rankings! This recognises organisations that go above and beyond to support veterans, reservists, and military families, and it reflects our genuine, ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces community across the UK.

Serco was one of the first companies to sign the Armed Forces Covenant in 2013 — a public promise to ensure that no member of the Armed Forces community faces disadvantage in accessing public and commercial services.

Support for reservists

We offer 12 additional days of paid leave annually to support reservist training commitments, alongside flexibility for deployments.
