HAAS Colleagues Complete a 100-Mile Challenge for Suicide Prevention UK

Three colleagues from Serco’s Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) team have taken on an incredible 100-mile run from Solihull to Bristol, raising more than £4,500 for Suicide Prevention UK.

The challenge, dubbed the HAAS Hundred, saw the three runners set off on 22 September and run through the night and into the following day as they made their way from Solihull to Bristol.

It was a huge personal challenge, but they weren’t doing it alone. A wider team of HAAS colleagues supported the runners throughout the route, providing practical support, encouragement and plenty of motivation as they clocked up the miles. Colleagues across HAAS also followed their progress, sending messages of support as the team made their way towards Bristol.

The team initially set themselves a fundraising target of £2,000 for Suicide Prevention UK. They’ve now more than doubled that, raising over £4,500, with donations still coming in.

For the runners, the challenge was about more than completing 100 miles. It was an opportunity to come together as colleagues and raise awareness and funds for an important cause.
“What an achievement. Taking on 100 miles through the night is an enormous challenge, and the determination shown by our three runners has been brilliant. Just as importantly, it’s been great to see colleagues come together to support them along the way.

A huge well done to everyone involved and thank you to everyone who has donated to such an important cause.”
