First Nations Employment

Weaving pathways to employment & careers

Through a culturally safe and inclusive workplace, we’re fostering an environment of belonging for First Nations people.

We’re a place where you’re valued for the unique skills, strengths, and experiences you bring to Serco, and you’re supported with sustainable opportunities, mentorship, and education.

Spirit of community

First Nations colleagues can choose to join our First Nations colleague community network, Kanyini. Kanyini, from the Pitjantjatjara language, is the principle of connectedness through caring and responsibility that underpins Aboriginal life.

Members come together remotely to yarn on what matters most to them, to their experience of working at Serco, and are a valued group for consultation on matters of interest to Indigenous colleagues.

Care and connection throughout your journey

You can count on us to be there every step of the way.

We’ll provide ongoing mentoring once you're in a role, and even help with traineeships and apprenticeships that propel you towards your career goals.

We want you feel well-prepped and confident going into the recruitment journey.

Future dreaming

Commissioned exclusively by Serco, this artwork, Future Dreaming, is a powerful acknowledgement of identity and pride and our shared opportunity to impact a better future.

Artist Charmaine Mumbulla is a Kaurna and Narungga woman from South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula, with family ties to the Gumbaynggirr people of the NSW Mid-North Coast. Charmaine is passionate about working on projects that support social justice.

She works closely with organisations to tell their stories through her art. Together with her partner she runs Aboriginal creative agency, Mumbulla Creative.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan

We support the empowerment of First Australians through our Reconciliation Action Plan and existing relationships with over 20 Indigenous enterprises.
