Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and make a real difference every single day?

At VIVO Defence Services, we’re looking for a hands-on, can-do, Multi-Skilled Operative to join our dedicated team of engineers in keeping critical MOD sites running smoothly, safely, and securely.

About the role:

As a Multi Skilled Operative, you'll be responsible for carrying out minor repairs and maintenance across a range of buildings, with tasks such as weekly sprinkler testing, flushing, and water softener top-ups. You’ll often work independently, making smart decisions on how best to solve maintenance issues, but you’ll also assist a team of 11 engineers on larger, more complex jobs when needed.

You’ll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly by supervising external contractors, ensuring all safety procedures and risk assessments are properly followed, and always delivering service to the highest possible standard. Using both electronic and paper-based systems, you’ll log your work accurately, order materials, and manage job updates efficiently.

What you’ll need;

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a full UK driving licence, basic IT skills (you’ll be using a PDA), good levels of numeracy and literacy, and the ability to obtain and maintain SC Clearance. It is essential that you have previous experience as a multi skilled operative, though it is highly desirable if you have qualifications in a particular field; e.g. carpentry, plumbing etc.

You should be proactive, happy to lone work and safety-conscious, always ready to go the extra mile. Participation in a 1-in-6 on-call rota is required, with additional pay provided.

While not essential, it would be a big plus if you have experience working in a MOD or FM (Facilities Management) environment, a recognised trade qualification or apprenticeship (particularly in carpentry), and experience using CAFM systems like Maximo.

This role is based out of Ashchurch but will involve regular travel to nearby sites including Imjin Barracks. You’ll be joining a friendly and capable team of 21, made up of 12 engineers and the office team, who work across five local MOD locations.

At VIVO Defence Services, we provide more than just maintenance – we deliver mission-critical support where it really matters. You’ll benefit from job stability, team camaraderie, continuous learning opportunities, and the satisfaction of contributing to something important every day.

Are you ready to take your skills to the next level and join a team with real purpose?

Apply now and become part of something bigger!
