Working Hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Salary: £24,068 per annum + London Weighting Allowance of £6,200 per annum

 

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Support Administrator to join our team at HMP Thameside. The role involves providing efficient administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our department. You will play a key role in managing office processes, coordinating communication, and supporting team activities.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Managing office processes and ensuring compliance with procedures.
  • Handling correspondence, emails, and telephone inquiries.
  • Maintaining the office calendar, filing systems, and archives.
  • Supporting meetings by taking minutes and preparing documentation.
  • Ordering office supplies and monitoring inventory.
  • Assisting with data collation, report preparation, and database management.
  • Supporting IT-related queries and acting as a liaison with the IT helpdesk.
  • Inducting new staff into office processes and procedures.

 

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • A collaborative and flexible team player with a proactive attitude.

 

Desirable Skills:

 

  • At least one year of office experience.
  • Knowledge of the Equalities Act 2010.
