UK Defence Academy, Swindon, SN6 8LA

Full time, Permanent (37 hours a week)

Salary of 26,000 to 29,500 dependent on experience plus benefits

 

Serco is contracted to provide Total Facilities Management to the Defence Academy of the UK (DA). This prestigious establishment is responsible for post-graduate education and most of the command, staff, leadership, Defence management, acquisition, and technology training for members of the UK Armed Forces and MOD Civil Servants.

Serco is recruiting for exciting role as a Graphic Designer within the print and graphics team at the Defence Academy! Do you have some graphic Design or creative experience? We want to hear from you!

As a Graphic Designer, you will be creating material in line with brand guidelines and brand identities for the Defence Academy.

 

Main Accountabilities:

  • Taking design briefs from Lead Graphic Designers and Graphics & Print Team Leader.
  • Design of logos, icons, pictograms, diagrams, flowcharts, illustrations, signage to a consistent style and quality.
  • Produce range of digital content including eLearning material, animations, social media.
  • Creative collaboration with the lead designers and design team.
  • Liaising with customers to clearly identify the requirements of graphics request.
  • Helping to print content required for different departments.
  • Design of printed material including brochures, books, reports, folders, leaflets, menus, posters etc.

 

What you’ll need to do the role:

  • Degree in a graphic discipline or demonstrable and commensurate experience and skills proven by a strong portfolio of work.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects is beneficial.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of digital design and design for print.
  • Creative and passionate about graphic design.
  • Ability to react to constructive feedback, making appropriate changes as part of the design process.
  • Committed to providing excellent product quality and customer service.
