Serco have an exciting new role for a Head of Asset Management in our Maritime division. This role will lead the effective and efficient management of the SEAMS solution for the Defence Marine Services (DMS), ensuring regulatory compliance, data accuracy, and continuous service improvement, while delivering safe vessel operations. Our Head of Asset Management will also provide key point of contact support to the Customer Senior Management Team (Defence Marine Services) including representation at the Performance Review Boards and Strategic Boards. Furthermore, the role will provide team leadership for the Asset Management section, quality and data control and management information output.


Main accountabilities:

 

  • Accountable for overseeing the entire SEAMS solution for DMS.
  • Accountable for and ensuring SEAMS is used in a way that optimises service delivery.
  • Accountable for Data Management, guarantee timely, accurate, and appropriate data reporting for contractual obligations.
  • Accountable for vessel and personnel compliance within the DMS.
  • Accountable for maintaining leading indicators to track effective and compliant service delivery.
  • Accountable for the safe operation of DMS vessels.
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing efficiency opportunities within the service.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement insights as required by the leadership.
  • To act as the primary deputy for the Contract Director as required.
  • Responsible for providing support services including but not limited to risk management, IT Intelligent Customer, internal and external audit support.

 

What you’ll need to do the role:

 

  • Proven experience in the maritime industry, understanding of vessel operations and associated regulations.
  • Proven experience of Marine Services delivery and understanding of a Statement of Requirement for services to the Royal Navy / DMS
  • Proven track record in Customer engagement and relationships with MoD / DMS.
  • A strong track record of managing assets effectively, optimising their use and lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the ISO 55001 Asset Management standard principles and practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, set clear goals, and drive performance improvement.
  • Experience in utilising data insights to inform decision making and a strong understanding of how technology can streamline processes.
