Here at Serco, we are looking for two Key Worker Hub Administrators to join the team at our new state of the art Category C prison, HMP Fosse Way.

 

The main role of the Offending Behaviour Programmes Facilitator is to deliver Offending Behaviour Programmes to Prisoners.

 

The successful candidate will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities, and duties:

 

  • Deliver Accredited Offending Behaviour Programmes such as the Thinking Skills Programme (TSP - a general offending behaviour programme) and any other identified programme according to the delivery plan of the establishment.
  • Complete all pre and post session work associated with delivering programme sessions.
  • Attend regular supervision with the Treatment Manager.
  • To assess Prisoners for the programmes offered on site.
  • Write Post Programme Reports for Prisoners who both complete and non-complete the programmes detailing progress and any identified further work.
  • Complete administrative tasks as required such as processing referrals, updating waiting lists, photocopying session materials, communicating with prison staff and external agencies regarding individual’s progress on the programmes.
  • Attend and pass any/all training as required.
  • Complete motivational work / assessment processes with Prisoners prior to commencing a programme.
  • Prepare objectives and follow up work with Prisoners involved in programmes and provide additional support where necessary.
  • Contribute to sentence planning and Parole process as appropriate for prospective group members and those who have participated in groups.

 

What you will need to do the role

 

Experience:

 

Minimum:  Experience of facilitating group work and / or experience of working with challenging client groups

Evidence of some educational exams with reasonable results.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a forensic setting
  • Experience of delivering psychological interventions
  • Experience in delivering accredited offending behaviour programmes such as those mentioned above (or equivalent) in custody or the community

 

Knowledge:

 

Training will be provided, however knowledge in some of the following areas would be an advantage:

  • Some knowledge and understanding of psychological theory particularly of offending.
  • Knowledge of the ‘what works’ literature in relation to reducing risk of reoffending.
  • Knowledge of theories related to violent and / or sexual offending.
  • Knowledge of responsivity and diversity issues when working with offenders.
  • Knowledge of motivational techniques.

 

Skills:

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate resistant individuals.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage demand of the role and large workload.
  • Ability to challenge antisocial behaviour and attitudes appropriately.
  • Ability to engage in supervision process and respond to feedback.
  • Able to reflect on own performance and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Good problem solving and emotion management skills
  • Ability to maintain boundaries and demonstrate resilience when working with offenders.
