Serco are recruiting for a Head of Outreach to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Contact Strategy, this role will be responsible for the delivery of our outreach strategy in UK for the Armed Forces Resettlement Service (AFRS).


This role will gather and collate vital insight and intelligence to shape and inform the Annual Outreach Plan whilst, working closely with the Serco Marketing and Recruitment Strategy teams to enable alignment and development of the outreach strategy and plans. You will manage and work with Regional Heads of Outreach to translate the overall Outreach strategy and plans into regional plans using localised data, supporting the creation of tri-Service and single Services’, whilst working closely with the Authority’s Engagement team to ensure the Outreach and Engagement strategies are complementary and avoid duplication of effort. 


This role is key for the delivery of the Contract and reaching the required quality and quantity of Candidates to meet recruitment targets.

Main responsibilities of the role:

 

  • Responsible for the delivery of the Outreach Strategy and associated Plans.
  • Leads the regular reviews of the Outreach Plans, monitoring and taking action to ensure contractual targets are met.
  • Support the Command Recruiting Support Plan reviews and input as required.
  • Delivering accurate and timely reports in line with the deliverables.
  • Support the Head of Contact Strategy in ensuring a robust delivery structure (including through Embedded Service Personnel) is in place with a strong succession plan to maintain operational delivery.
  • Assisting continuous improvement initiatives, stakeholder engagement, risk and compliance to support the contract.
  • Representing Serco with key customers, partners and stakeholders in contractual meetings and enhancing Serco’s reputation.
  • Build on existing relationships to achieve a high level of trust. 
  • Ensuring appropriate corporate governance is in place to comply with assurance and other legal requirements and ensure that contract requirements are effectively delivered across the contract.
  • Leveraging services from across Defence to drive best practice and innovation across the business.
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team in ensuring that all employees and Embedded Service Personnel understand and implement the strategy/plans and are motivated to achieve its objectives.

 

What you’ll need to do the role:

 

  • Able to achieve BPSS clearance.
  • Proven experience of implementing strategies and plans in a complex stakeholder environments and making strategic decisions on direction and operations. 
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. 
  • Strong influencing skills, both with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and written skills at all levels.
  • Proven track record of successful management of teams for operational delivery within a Defence environment. 
  • Builds effective partnerships with stakeholders and delivering growth.
  • Fully conversant with Serco governance policies and procedures.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills with a drive for outstanding customer service and high-performance culture.
  • Proven track record of successful delivery in complex and volatile environments.
  • Leading, engaging, developing and motivating teams, communicating direction, developing best talent and capabilities.
