Your Opportunity  

We are looking for an Accommodation Laundry and Gym Assistant who will effectively execute all tasks required from the Reception & Accommodation, Laundry, Gym, record keeping, compilation of reports. Also, responsible for working autonomously on a shift basis when required and conducting ad-hoc administrative tasks as required.

 

The ideal candidate should be courteous and respectful providing customer service excellence. Someone who is able to work under stringent deadlines and high-pressure environment. Has excellent customer service communication skills

 

This role is part of our team at MELABS in Dubai, UAE.

 

Key Accountabilities 

 

Accommodation

  • Ensure 100% room booking compliance following room booking process flowchart, whilst remaining flexible to short notice request
  • Ensure 100% room cleaning and ready for occupancy, cleaning post room check out, rooms inspections and reporting of damages.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and handling the client complaints and escalating if necessary.
  • Meet and greet new arrivals to issue keys and welcome packs during MASS flight

Laundry Services

  • Receive dry cleaning requests from customers and coordinate the laundry in and out with supplier
  • Inspect and verify customer laundry before sending to supplier for washing to ensure data in the written slips matches with the items sent for laundry
  • Inspect and verify customer laundry once received from supplier after washing to ensure data in the written slips matches with the items received for laundry
  • Coordinate of any rewash with supplier

Gym

  • Carrying out duties at both the Camp Baird gymnasium during the working hours or as agreed between the Commonwealth and line management;
  • Maintain a stock of freshly laundered towels;
  •  Conduct a sanitised wipe-down of all exercise equipment in gymnasium four (6) times daily (three times in the morning and three times in the afternoon at times agreed upon);
  •  Replenishing supplies of paper towel and sanitising sprays used by gymnasium patrons;
  • Maintaining the stock of refrigerated bottled water and ensure that fridges are kept clean

 

Reporting and Administration Requirements

  • Maintain records and trackers on a daily basis and ensure 100% accuracy on data entry.
  • Maintain GFE list for both Customer and Serco
  • Maintain records for Gym and laundry services
  • Assist in preparing Reception Accommodation Month End Report

 

Specific Requirements 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in hospitality field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in housekeeping field
  • Intermediate skills with MS office tools
  • Must be able to communicate in English (verbal, reading & writing).
  • Experience operating in an autonomous capacity
  • Experience with shift working
  • Customer Service experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills at an individual and team level.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow / Green / Black Belt preferred.
