Your Opportunity
We are currently bidding for a new prestigious Facilities Management project in Abu Dhabi, UAE and we are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Manager who will be responsible for the full remit of the delivery of engineering management services of the contract including operational and service provider team management, Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and specialist services.
The ideal candidate should have the ability to demonstrate good people management and interpersonal capability. Has proven analytical capability and problem-solving skills and an excellent communicator and motivator at multi levels.
The hiring for this role is subject to contract award.
Key Accountabilities

Assist the senior management with the delivery of the strategic direction ensuring that operations, PPM and reactive works are carried out effectively and efficiency utilizing approved processes and procedures.

Assist in project management of capital works and projects and development of the in-house maintenance capability.

Maintain and continually review and improve the onsite service delivery and ensure that the required technical and safety training is carried out by the training managers to improve safety and capability.

Provide management and leadership for the mechanical engineering department of the contract, ensuring that international best practice facilities management is delivered as per the requirements of the client.

Manage the staff consisting of Mechanical Supervisors, Mechanical Technicians, and Assistant Mechanical Technicians assigned for duties in the Mechanical Department of the client. Third parties will also need to be managed.

Provides management and oversight of the outputs of the mechanical engineering department and their respective teams, to ensure service delivery in compliance with the Project Agreement.

Fully aware of all mechanical related matters of the contract and maintains a full set of the mechanical “As-Built” drawings, specifications, charts, Operation & Maintenance manuals issued by client.

Ensures full coordination with other specialty disciplines while work is being carried out.

Building long-term relationships with the Client is key.
Specific Requirements

Five (5) plus years of experience with advance knowledge in Mechanical Engineering, obtainable usually through a combination of experience and continuing education with a bachelor’s degree.

Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering

Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Practical experience of the built environment with a mechanical or electrical engineering qualification.

Proven experience of Integrated Facilities Management environment including operational delivery on multiple building facilities.

Proficient in Microsoft packages including word, excel and PowerPoint. Adaptable to use company systems as required to the operations.

Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow / Green / Black Belt preferred.
