Your Opportunity
We are currently bidding for a new prestigious Facilities Management project in Abu Dhabi, UAE and we are looking for who a General Trades Shift Engineer who will work collaboratively with the other service streams to ensure service delivery coordination is optimised. The scope of accountability includes but is not limited to:

external building fabric, façade, glazing, barriers, stairways, paving
-
internal building fabric, walls, painting, ceilings, floor coverings
-
fixtures & fittings, doors, windows, joinery, noticeboards, mirrors
-
decorative finishes, specialist woodwork and paint
The ideal candidate should be able to maintain good and harmonious relationships with technicians, clients and visitors and respond to any complaints promptly.
The hiring for this role is subject to contract award.
Key Accountabilities

Take a lead for the development of risk assessments and Method Statements to ensure all tasks are carried out safely so as not to harm people, equipment or property

Provide a focus for the development and monitoring of policies, procedures and protocols for Civil equipment maintenance and repair services (including Permit to Work System and Emergency Procedures)

Be responsible for overseeing the delivery of all planned and reactive tasks in accordance with the Service Level Specification requirements

Work closely with client representatives to develop project delivery plans, including contingency planning, determining dependencies and stakeholder engagement / management
-
Provide technical leadership and support to the supervisors and technicians on all civil engineering associated with the full range of building fabric and FF&E issues

Prepare and provide daily and monthly management reports and shift handover reports in a timely manner

In conjunction with Procurement, assist in providing scope of work and provide support for the selection of Specialist Service Partners

Plan, coordinate and supervise in house staff, consultants and specialist service contractors providing inspection of works to ensure quality of service delivery. Report all shortfalls

Assist in building surveys and asset data collection with input into the development of the annual and 5 Year Asset Maintenance Plans, Energy Management Plans and the Asset Condition Survey

Integrate and communicate effectively with civil engineering technical staff and other technical staff (Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC and ELV) as required to complete all civil services works

Support the Maintenance activities of the technicians by providing specialist building engineering knowledge and advice, associated with the full range of building engineering services and equipment

Preparation of competency assessment and issuing of standing Instructions
Specific Requirements
-
Seven (7) plus years of experience with advance knowledge in civil engineering services with a large complex of service organisation
-
Three (3) years minimum supervisory experience with the ability to manage maintenance teams
-
Experience in construction and maintenance engineering services equipment and associated systems and controls
-
Experience in working in a major tertiary hospital or healthcare facility/campus
-
Computer literate – MS Office, Excel, Project etc.

Understanding of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

Ideally a holder of Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering or at least a civil or building Diploma.
