About You

You will have proven experience ideally working across complex mental health or behavioural issues. You have a proven ability to work effectively and proactively in a team environment and enjoy working collaboratively with others to achieve the goals and objectives of the Centre. You understand the importance of creating and maintaining a culturally sensitive environment including respecting the diversity of inmates, staff and other stakeholders. You are motivated and ready to take the opportunity.  You will be working and creating a culture of openness, trust and transparency coupled with your focus on living and instilling our values, while promoting equality and removing barriers to diversity will ensure you succeed in this role.  You also have strong communication skills and are respectful with a commitment and passion for the on-going rehabilitation working towards making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care.


About the Role

The key purpose of role is to assess post release needs of Inmates and identify referral pathways for housing, employment, education, training and community social support services including family and significant others. Reintegration officers will also deliver pre-release programs and service that supports inmates successful reintegration and to challenge offending behaviours, whilst promoting and supporting positive behaviour change. 


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Criminology, Social Work, Social Sciences or relevant industry experience 
  • Certificate IV in Correctional Practice-Case Management (or completed within the first 12 months of employment) 
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team in the provision of reintegration services and programs 
  • Experience working within a correctional, welfare or institutional setting (desirable) 
  • Experience in group facilitation, ideally dealing with complex mental health or behavioural issues 
  • Experience in the preparation of accurate reports and submissions 
  • Ability to prepare high quality repots in designated timeframes 
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms 
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain the strictest of confidentiality 
  • Ability to Problem Solve and facilitate the problem-solving strategies with others
