  • Salary: $55,495pa (experienced) / $60,270pa (NCOM Level 3) / $65,176pa (NCOM Level 4)
  • Relocation packages available: Up to $5,000 if living outside of Auckland or overseas

About You:

You are an experienced Corrections/Correctional Officer, looking to join the team at Kohuora Auckland South Corrections Facility, based in South Auckland, New Zealand. You have at least 12 months’ relevant experience, and you may also hold NCOM Level 3 or 4, or overseas equivalent (such as a Certificate III or IV in Correctional Practice).


About the Role:

As a Reintegration Officer (RO, and otherwise known as a Corrections Officer) you will be responsible for the management, supervision, security, care and provision of services for prisoners on a daily basis. This is a 960-bed facility that serves adult male prisoners from minimum to high security.


In this role you will have the duty and the opportunity to embed meaningful change in the lives of the men in our care, and by extension, their whānau and our wider communities. 


To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have the highest levels of trust and integrity
  • Be culturally aware and able to communicate well with people from all walks of life
  • Have an understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi & Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and be committed to better outcomes for Maori
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Pride yourself on high levels of resilience
  • Be able to complete a Fitness test as a part of your recruitment process
  • Be willing to undergo a pre-employment Medical Assessment (including a drug test)
  • Hold, or be able to acquire by the time of training, a full New Zealand Driver License
  • Have the ability to work a variety of shifts within a 24/7 environment (including day and night shifts, weekends, and Public Holidays, according to the roster system)
